In 2016, Gunning District Landcare helped install interpretive signage at Dalton’s Fossil Park, telling the story of a site where ancient marine fossils are preserved in the rock.
The signs explain the area’s 400-million-year-old geological history and raise awareness about the significance of protecting this rare natural heritage. The project made the site more accessible and engaging for visitors, linking science, community, and local pride.
