Oolong Creek plays a vital role in supporting local biodiversity, including habitat for the endangered Southern Pygmy Perch. Gunning District Landcare has been working along the creek since 2015, removing invasive weeds, planting native vegetation, and running citizen science projects to monitor creek health.
Supported by OzFish’s River Clean Up Bus initiative, this work is helping to stabilise creek banks, improve water quality, and create a healthier future for one of our rarest native fish.
