In 2023, Gunning District Landcare participated in the Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee Program, a national initiative celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth II’s dedication to community and conservation.
With support from the Australian Government and help from the Gunning Scouts and Joeys, we planted native trees in the Gunning Showground Bushland Park, eradicated the pine trees on the block and removed a significant amount of rubbish and tyres.
The works done under the program were major steps in restoring biodiversity and access around the site.
