Serrated tussock is one of Australia’s most destructive weeds. Through the Tussock Tamers project, Gunning District Landcare worked with landholders to control infestations and restore native grassy ecosystems.
Workshops, field days, and coordinated on-ground actions helped reduce infestations across priority areas between 2010 and 2015. The project built skills, strengthened networks, and showed how determined local action can turn the tide against major environmental threats.
